    My authority is in the process of re-structuring its “shared transactional services”. The new job descriptions in the “Payments” section have housing benefit and council tax benefit related tasks as 17 and 18 out of 21 (technical officer grade 8 level) and tasks 1 – 7 of 17 (processing officer grade 6 level). The other tasks for each post are to do with payroll and invoices. Has anyone had experience of working in such generic roles? Was the HB/CTB delivery of a good quality?
