Gypsy Sites

    We have a gentleman on the phone this morning who insists that there has been new legislation saying that site rents on gypsy sites should not be referred to the Rent Officer. I’m not aware of any such legislation – does anyone know what he means?

    To my knowledge, no such changes. Refer away….

    It sounds like one of those HB-related urban myths that occasionally gathers pace. On Rightsnet, there is a recent thread where this issue was also raised. It strikes me that one or two “clever” ppl are trying to get certain types of cases, such as gypsy sites, treated differently by attempting to suggest different rules apply, or they are somehow exempt.

    If there have been any changes, I’d really really like to know about them….

    Thanks, Kevin. It now transpires that the gentleman on the phone was our County Gypsy Liaison Officer, so I’ll be interested to hear how he got hold of this idea…
