Homeless Hostel Deductions

    Hi

    I have recently re-done our homeless hostels inelligable deductions and our housing department has now informed me that the previous deductions were passed by cabinet and therefore I cant change them!

    I was just wondering what other authorites did and if you have your homeless hostel deductions passed through cabinet??

    If the service charge is specified, that is the deduction. There is no need to uprate it using standard HB deductions. If your Council’s cabinet has decided how much to charge for ineligible services, you just go with that.

    Unless of course the charge is “unrealisticlly low” in relation to the fuel provided.

    Not even then – “unrealistically low” applies to rent allowance cases only – not rent rebate ones. (HB Regs Sch 1 para 6(1))
