Given the emphasis placed on confidentiality and security of data by DWP and the Govt Connect agenda, does anybody have any views on whether or not it would be desirable/legal/practicable to move to a hot-desking environment whereby whoever is working within the Council that day grabs any available desk?

This could potentially result in people unconnected with Benefits administration, for example, leisure, parking, facilities management etc. working side-by-side with people in Benefits.

I’d be interested to hear if it’s currently happening anywhere else and what issues have arisen or if it’s been considered and rejected.

    Thanks.
