Housing Benefit for campervan

    We have received a claim for a customer who lives in a camper van which is her only home, and wants HB for the pitch fees at a holiday caravan park, where the maximum length of stay is 3 weeks.
    The Adelphi advised that if we classed the camper van as a dwelling, and if it was her sole or main residence and she had a liability to make payments, that HB could be paid.
    However, another authority has refused payment, and looking at this site shows that different LA’s have paid and refused HB in similar cases.
    Does anyone have a case that they refused where the customer appealed and a tribunal decision was made that upheld the LA’s determination?
