Interest Payment on Mortgage

    I know that this isn’t the right place to ask this question, but assistance required.

    A colleague has asked me find out if the DWP still assist with interest payments on mortgages if someone loses their job and they are in receipt of I/S or JSA.

    The person involved has queried this with the B/A, but they were told that stopped several years ago

    Went on the DWP website, but couldn’t find anything?

    Any ideas?

    My understanding is that interest payments are still covered by IS.
    There is a waiting period depending whether loan taken out before or after October 1995. If after this date there’s a 39 week waiting period (in some circumstances less). If before, they get 50% after 8 weeks & 100% after 26 weeks.
