Purely by accident I’ve just come across this BFI good practice guide which was published in August this year. Did anyone know anything about it?

Whether you follow these good practices [i:40d08d6eae][b:40d08d6eae]is for you to decide.[/b:40d08d6eae][/i:40d08d6eae] They are not currently part of the “HB/CTB Performance Standards” and [b:40d08d6eae]BFI will not, therefore, formally rate you against these good practices. [/b:40d08d6eae]However, we believe that they are helpful and you might want to check your own practices and procedures against what follows. We believe that, while some of what follows is basic, there is much here that is valuable.

I agree, the document is very helpful but my concern is that LA’s don’t know the report exisits (something which appears to be borne out by the survey results so far).

Some of the survey respondents knew of the report (hopefully they don’t all work for the BFI). Would those who did know about it be kind enough to say how they found out about it. Was it through a bulletin/newsletter?

I was emailed the guide by Katherine James from BFI’s Performance Development Team, I think because I’d responded to an article, possibly in HB Direct, earlier in the year to express an interest in attending an interventions workshop.
