Joint Tenants and Northgate

    Have posted this on the Northgate board as well.

    On the LHA Assessment screen there is a box that allows you to override the category that the system works out. If you do this, you then have to give a reason for it. One of the options is for Joint Tenants.

    Why do we need this when it is the claimant’s household details that are important and the details of any joint tenants are disregarded?

    I have checked the notes and cannot see anything that explians this.


    Could it be for dependants/ non-dependants belonging to the JT who are not excluded from the definition of ‘occupier’ but presumably wouldn’t be entered on the claim for the means test?

    We have the same option on the rents screen in Academy but have chosen not to use it and instead add the non-household occupier under an excluded status on the household page.
