    Hi

does any one ask their landlords to sign a agreement before making payments direct.

We have an old form that we want to update, explaining rules for paying and asking if the landlord will repay overpayments etc.

Has anyone got one they would be willing to share? Please email me a copy.

    Thanks.

We used to have them but found they were not worth the paper they are written on.
What do you do if a LL refuses to sign?

I agree with jm, not worth the paper…and no legal basis for it whatsoever.

    Thanks guys,

Just felt we needed something so that landlord know what they are getting into, expecially if the payment to them is at the claimant request. They need to know what their responsibilities are and that they may have to repay OP’s: gives them the option of refusing to accept direct payments once they know the score.

By all means send them some kind of information sheet, but if you are going to insist they sign something you are simply making work for yourselves for no good gain.
