for anyone interested Mrignorant appears to be from or around Weston Super Mare. I’m sure you could work out who he is!

edit: sorry just looked again and its “BMV property” that suggests cooking the books. He is also worth a look as he has a number of LHA posts.

Well, I was going to hazard a guess at a certain former member of the Upper House, until I saw the comment that he doesn’t particularly like the Conservatives. Funny, too, how there seems to be a general impression that benefit claimants like nothing better than getting wasted on drugs and alcohol …

Yes, I’m finding the assumptions that benefit claimants are all drug-addicted boozed up wastrels rather annoying, frankly. Sure, some are. But then I’ve known some people in full-time work that are as well.

Look no further than Robert Downery Jr, for instance 😉

While we had lots of borderline-hysteric landlords ranting about how LHA was going to destroy their businesses [i:c8b2ec8053]before[/i:c8b2ec8053] LHA, [i:c8b2ec8053]since[/i:c8b2ec8053] LHA it’s been quiet as the proverbial mill pond. Oh, apart from some rather dubious and downright illegal things such as landlords forcing some tenants to sign a statement saying they are incapable of managing their own affairs – the customer made a statement afterwards saying she was quite capable of looking after her affairs, and that she did want payments made direct to her, but that the landlord had forced her to sign the statement.

All of which suggests to me that some landlords are far more dodgy than most tenants. 😉

As discussed here in jest, that must be the long forgetten prime directive of HB – to keep LL’s in business!

Ah yes – I must have missed that circular! 😆

In seriousness, though, this does call some landlords into question. I wonder if more will fail the ‘fit and proper’ criteria if forcing tenants to make false statements.
