If a customer notifies the LA of a Tax Credit award later than a month they were notified themselves how do we treat this? eg award letter is dated 19.5.03 giving details of the award for the period 6/4/03 to 5/4/04 the customer does not notify us of this award until Dec 03; we know that a late notification comes under the revision and supersession rules and that we would need to go back; we have an issue over whether we go back to the date of the award (April)or the date the customer was notified(May).

Is there a special rule on how tax credit is treated under these circumstances.

    Thankyou for your help

i am unaware of a special rule for Tax Credits and my understanding is you would action it as if it was notified at the correct time.

Therefore you would go from May as normal.
