Current HB/CTB customer receives first award letter from the Pension Service dated 29 Oct 2003, Savings Credit will be credited back to 06 Oct 2003.

Do you raise an overpayment from 06 Oct 2003 and classify as Pension Service error (subsidy 95%) or input the Savings Credit into the case only from the date of the award letter?

What are you doing in your authority?

The change in Hb would take effect from the 1st day of the benefit week following the date on which the LA receives notification of the award from The Pension Service.
In this case, if you have not received an ETD I would put on from the Monday following 29/10/03, accepting that the ETD should have been produced the same day.
REG 68B(5) refers where an award is made and this results in a decrease in Hb.

reg 68b(5) refers to the la being notified by the secretary of state, practically speaking we are also amending these claims from the monday following notification, but the regs would appear to indicate that we would be more correct to leave this claims in their pre-aif state until notification is received direct from the pensions service.
