for the purposes of CT Support/Reduction or whatever else it will end up being called……..

what about where a man of SPC age (he has been since Jan 12) is claiming ESA IR and hasnt changed to PCG cos it wont make any difference to his income?

he's claiming a working age benefit but is state pension credit age.  Academy system is deeming him a pensioner – is this right????????? :tired:

If he is still receiving ESA IR he is classed as working age under HB, CTB and CTR regulations

craigworc – no pensioner premiums awarded but he’s on ESA IR so makes no difference to amount of CTB – and is definitely being classed in the elderly group for CT Support Groups

chris – thanks for clarification. I will have to raise this with Capita

We asked Capita about this issue and they said that if they are on a working age benefit as far as they are concerned the system is correct … be interesting to see what they say now it’s putting them in the elderly group.

This issue is resolved in R64 as there are changes to the way that they system assigns groups from R63 to R64. We have tested this in R64 and a case with the exact same circumstances will be assigned a working age group.

response as above from Capita. Which isnt good -we have been modelling schemes on what could be duff info – i hope we havent got many more state pension credit age customers who are claiming working age benefits……….cos at the moment we are treating them as pensioners.
