Moving to another LA – change resulting in nil entitlement??

    Hi,

    Can anyone help with a discussion I’ve been having with a colleague.

    If a person moves from my authority to another, would that count as a change resulting in nil entitlement? If it does, it means they should carry on getting HB until the end of the benefit week (as opposed to ending on the day they moved)?

    That’s how I see it. It’s a change ending entitlement.

    As long as it’s not a Hostel case then you pay until the end of the benefit week – HBR 79(8) – and this scenario is also covered in the DWP GM

    does that apply to someone who moves out on a Sunday?

    do we pay to the end of the following week but end ctb on the saturday as the liability for council tax ends?
