    Due in July, I believe.

They do not appear to have turned up in a circular yet. Any ideas?

Bit optimistic aren’t you? It’s only September, after all…or you could give this a try:

G9/2006 informs that we are not going to be issued with an update this year. You need to contact the National Savings Certificate Customer Management Unit to get a valuation.

Or use the above link – you can also download a spreadsheet calculator from this website. Wonder why the DWP didn’t tell us about this?

Actually, looking at this, would we be able to use this? It only gives an estimated value for October 2006.

The values in the DWP Circulars have only ever given an estimated value, and there is always a ‘disclaimer’ paragraph at the beginning of the circ. For example, from last year:

“The values provided are to be used as a guide only. If a more accurate valuation is required please contact National Savings and Investments…”

Thanks for all the info. I must remember to read my G bulletins more carefully!

I’m assuming that we’re going to apply the uprated values from the monday after 1 July as in previous years. We also used the date that the circular was issued as the receipt date of notification of change. What date do we use this year? I can feel an email to the DWP coming on…

Having just tried that website I posted above, I would advise you against using it…I put in some certificates for valuation and it gave me a value considerably lower than the July 2005 value from the DWP circular

Isn’t the calculator just for Index Linked Certificates? I think we’d already decided to advise assessors to contact NS&I in all instances anyway.

    Exactly what we’ve done here
