A customer of ours is a single parent who is a NHS student receiving a student bursary. Due to multiple temp absence she is unable to go back to her course until September 2011 and payments from the bursary have been suspended (proof provdied) with last payment received mid May 2011.

The customer is still registered as a NHS student, however a letter from the uni confirms break of course between 23/05/11 and 26/09/11.

Can the customer be treated as only being in reciept of other income? or continue as a assessment of a full year or only money actually received?

    Thanks

Yes they still count as a student as they are still registered but as the grant is no longer received would not use it bearing in mind the dates and period in relation to the next instalment payments of the bursary may change.
