    Can anyone tell me if you are eligible for HB and CTB if you are jailed for non payment of a fine. (in Scotland)

    There is something lurking in the back of my mind that you don’t, but please feel free to say that I am thinking a load of rubbish 😆

    I think you’re eligible. Leaving aside the obvious (the 13 week rule) I seem to remember that the only time you can’t be awarded benefit is if you are jailed for non-payment of Council Tax.

    Willing to be disagreed with though. 😀

    Imprisonment for council tax or fine non-payment will affect discount entitlement, but in itself it has no specific implications for benefit entitlement. I.e. the benefit rules regarding imprisonment are the same whatever the offence.
