Wondering if anyone can help me here – we have a case were the claimant for benefit went into nursing home and the decison has now been made that that the claimant is no longer returning to his home. Council Tax have awarded discount 25% discount (as there is a non dep in house) back to the date the claimant went into nursing home. CTB was paid for period prior to decision being made.
My question is can we still pay benefit on the claimants income for the period prior to decision made or should benefit be terminated back to discount date? Or should Council Tax have only awarded discount from the date decision made that claimant not returing to his home? Can we award both for the same period?
