We are currently using an on-line benefits calculator supplied by Team Netsol Ltd but are wanting to evaluate other products which are on the market before we extend our contract in October.

I wondered if anyone would be good enough to share information about their calculator, who provides it, is it good/bad, would you recommend it to any other LA.

    Thanks, Joan.

Ovaltech have one that a lot of authorities use. Have a look at our version of it at:

    Thanks for your reply, Phil.

Yep, the calculator looks very good and Ovaltech’s web page is very informative, but the licence fee isn’t really just £300 pa, there must be a catch somewhere or is that the Yorkshire cynic in me.

I think our LA will certainly be looking at moving to them, though, so thanks again.

    Joan.

Surely the Team netsol (always makes me think of the tour de france!) producet meets current egov targets as well: in that a form is produced via the operation of answering the questionnaire. I have used Ovaltech before – excellent product but this does not produce an eform (or does it?)

Capita are providing an on-line form as part of our recent system conversion project, so we don’t need Teamnetsol’s, though it does seem logical to move straight into the form from the calculator.

The main concern regarding the calculator is the cost of the product, we’ve got it at a reduced rate until October, and is it value for money when it’s compared to the number of hits we get.

As a result, I’ve been ‘asked’ to shop around for alternatives.
