The circular, HB/CTB A17/2010, was issued by DWP today and a formidable document it is too, comprising 16 pages and 9 annexes.DWP has put a lot of effort into explaining the administrative considerations and are to be complimented on their thoroughness.Doubtless however that there will be some gaps-only to be expected with such a complex and contentious innovation.
I went to a Northgate user Group yesterday – there it was suggested that 1 strike wouldn’t be in force as the legislation was incorrect, and that DWP had admitted that this was correct!!!
Anyone else heard this? (other than those at yesterday’s meeting!)
If it is still in force? What about para 64 of A17? Is there a right of appeal or not? I see lots more submissions being written? Too many question marks!
This legislation is in place and already being used.
On a Fraud Investigators forum I visit posts are already indicating LA’s are already commenting on the problems Admin teams are having in trying to apply sanctions as none of the software companies have input the alterations yet. I can confirm that there has been no feedback to Fraud teams regarding problems with the legislation from DWP or local FIS teams.
We raised this with capita some time ago and they assured us that there would be no change necessary. The previous two strikes system would work just as well for one strike.
