Does anyone know which reg states that clmt does not need to apply for an overlap of benefit?

I think it’s more like, what reg states you have to make a claim for HB on 2 homes? None. 😀

HBR7 is mostly covered by HBR 88/88A : Duty to notify changes of circumstances.

I always encourage assessors to be pro-active on this one – there’s likely to be some unavoidable overlap (even if just a few days) in most moves & many claimants will be completely unaware that they can get help with it.

As Kay has said, the key is that there is no reg that a claim must be made.

But you will still find plenty of La’s insisting on an application (separately, in writing) and it will not be paid without it.

Falls into the, “…thats the way we have always done it school of thinking…”.
