We have recently received a decision notice (NHB3) from our local BA office which instead of saying JSA or IS at the top, states ‘Pension Credit’.

We were previously notified the claimant concerned was in receipt of Income Support. This ‘Pension Credit decision notice’ states as from the 01/04/03 she has been awarded JSA. Considering the claimant is over 80 years old, I find this a bit puzzling!

Has anyone else had NHB3 like this, and if so WHAT DOES IT MEAN!!!!

I know people can make pre-emptive applications for pension credit, but surely these cannot be paid until October.

We have received a decision notice from the Pension Agency in Dundee confirming someone is being paid Pension Credit from January 2003! I phoned the agency and spoke to 3 different people who confirmed that they had no idea why it had been produced as the person was in receipt of Income Support. They also went on to say that, as yet, they have had no training on Pension Credits!!!!

I think this is going to as much as a shambles as the new tax credits currently are.
