We have a claim from a Zimbabwean national who entered the UK on a family reunion visa with his wife as his sponsor.
His wife has died and we are unsure as to his immigration status because this is a family reunion sponsorship it is unclear whether it would follow the normal rules when a sponsor dies.
Any ideas please as the Home Office have not yet replied to our query.

Prepared to be shot down on this one, but I’d say he’s OK for the period of the visa – the nature of the sponsored entry is not part of the conditions as far as I’m aware.

From GM on persons not affected by IST:
[quote:9b973a74c3]people admitted to the UK as sponsored immigrants, as a result of a written maintenance undertaking, who have been resident in the UK for less than five years and whose sponsor or sponsors, if more than one has died
