    Hi

I have a Polish Claimant who has been here since April 2005 and has recently claimed JSA (no decision yet). He is married and his wife receives SMP from employer.

Amongst his documents is Residence Documentation stating Registration Certificate dated October 2007. Is this the same as a residence permit?which means that we are ok to pay HB and CTB.

I would be grateful for any help.

    thanks

The EEA Registration Certificate replaced the residence permit in 2006. In itself this does not make a person eligible for benefit. It shows that they were self-sufficient, or a student, or employed, or self-employed, or retired when they applied for it. It does not necessarily reflect thier current circumstances.
