The Chancellor has announced his intention to increase Child Benefit from 5.1.09., but will there be an increase in the personal allowance and/or premiums to take account of this? It would appear not, and therefore it means that many of our claimants will receive new CTAX bills and notification letters. Given that we are approaching the end of the standard payment period for CTAX, this means a real rush job to get the bills out before Xmas (assuming we get the official statement from the DWP pronto). Also, all pensioners will get an extra £60.00 in january, is this going to be disregarded? All comments and debate gratefully received!
