Reconsiderations and Appeals

    Hi,

    We are currently going through a restructure and revised JD’s have been created.

    Reconsiderations, Appeals and DHPS all now fall within the Appeals Officers remit.

    Someone has said to me that reconsiderations and appeals should not be dealt with by the same officers. (at the moment. they are dealt with by different officers), is there anything anywhere which states this, so that I can go back and state fact.

    As far as I’m aware it’s only a good practice guidance to prevent a decision maker or local authority being accused of a bias on the particular decision.
