We have a RSL who are privately financed and have received no grants for aiding with the refurb of the property, therefore the cost are reflecting in the rent. We feel their rent of £220.10 per week per tenant is unreasonably high.

We have never referred a RSL to the rent officer before, I have contacted the rent officer, but he has given me no indecation on what he would pay.

Please can you confirm if you have referred a RSL to the rent officer and the outcome? Please let me now your veiws on this issue! Thanks

If you consider the rent is unreasonably high then you have to refer. Whether you can then restrict will depend on the type of clientele. There is a lot of caselaw on “old” reg 11 – happy reading!
