Help! It’s ages since we had one of these.
Can anyone tell me how we deal with ‘rent assessment committee’ rent levels, and are there any restrictions we should apply? 🙄

I thought they were abolished in 1996?

    So did we.
But when we get an apparent new one (as we have) do we just refer as usual to the RO?

Sorry I should have been more specific. RAC decisions still exist but my understanding is that they are not binding on L/A’s in cases made after Jan 96

Lovely and simple – no you do not need to refer – this is the maximum amount of rent that can be charged. You do however need to know what is being charged as the landlord does not have to charge the full amount.
