Second Adult Rebate Take-Up

    Please can anyone offer any advice on second adult rebate take-up?
    Currently we have 67,795 properties in our Borough and only 158 active Second Adult Rebate claims. Please can anyone tell me the number of active cases they have and how it compares to the number of properties in their area? It seems a very underclaimed benefit. We are going to be including an article on second adult rebate, council tax benefit, exemptions and discounts etc. in our Council magazine. We are also doing a training session on second adult rebate and inviting the local CAB, Housing Association, Pension Service etc. Has anyone had any success with take-up of second adult rebate and if so please could you let me know what has been effective.

    Have you thought about issuing SAR claim forms when issuing revised ctax bills due to loss of 25% discount as long as not for partner moving in?
