    Hi – we are currently completeing our self assessment for HB Audit and it’s asking for “Policies and Strategies covering benefits administration(including verification).”

    Does anybody have any idea what they are looking for?

    We have policies on DHP, Overpayments, Take-up – any ideas what else we can include? Anybody got anything they want to share?

    Is this Internal Audit?If so, ask them. If they’re like our audit section they are years out of date – I mean, verification! I’ve never had to provide these to an external auditor.

    no -it’s the Benefits Performance Audit by Audit Scotland, not sure what the point is at this stage in the game!

    Here’s a verification policy for you…
    “Each claim, review and change of circumstances is judged on its own merit. Reasonable requests for information/evidence are made in line with legislation.”

    As this is generally covered by your normal annual subsidy check anyway why don’t you ask?
