Extract from latest issue of HB Direct.

Colleagues from the Fraud and Error team have been out speaking to groups of LA investigators about the plans for a Single
Fraud Investigation Service (SFIS). Next month’s HB Direct will set out the timeline and key decision points for the SFIS. We’ll
also be able to tell you about plans for a Regional Mobile Task Force trailblazer.

Anyone know where and when these events have taken place? I applied to become a member of the Virtual Stakeholder Network but I’ve heard nothing since submitting my application!

I expect they mean they went to a LAIOG meeting!

Or maybe the consultations were carried out with a great deal of subterfuge. To show that the new service works?

This is the latest DWP communication I received yesterday

    Secondments
For those interested in secondments we are currently assessing the resource requirements and working with our HR department to look at the most effective approach. We would like to have secondments in place in the next three months so those seconded are fully involved in the design and implementation plans. Once we have finalised the numbers required and established the selection criteria we will write to those who expressed interest with the full details. We anticipate this will be in July but will keep you up to date as the detail emerges.

    Virtual groups and workshops
For those who were keen to be part of workshops and/or virtual stakeholder groups, we have registered your details and project and programme managers will contact you directly as they build their stakeholder engagement. They will set out their specific project aims and how they intend to use the groups and you can then liaise directly with the relevant project on involvement. We will also keep your details for any programme wide stakeholder engagement.

We are considering options for holding roadshow/workshop events later this year (not before September) to look in depth at specific issues/areas where we think wider stakeholder experience and contributions would be necessary to shape our approach and ensure we’ve considered full options for implementation.

I’ve found Tell Us Once to be a lean and streamlined programme with absolutely no unnecessary bureaucracy or paperwork. A complicated concept has been clearly explained by roadshows and lots of information. I don’t know how I would have coped with the revolutionary idea of receiving detailed personal information via electronic files without the hands-on help that’s been available. Interestingly, ATOS are providing the IT. Our go-live date has only been put back once. So far.

Rob, Until Tell Us Once, I didn’t know that the interweb existed. Now I know about it, I can type things from anywhere. I could already be on my summer break, it’s certainly sunny outside!

    Extract from a newsletter I’ve just recived…………

Auntie has heard a very strong rumour that the DWP have finally seen sense and that they will be elaying the introduction of their Single Totally Universal Premier Investigation Division idea until 2015 at the earliest. Now whilst this is just a rumour, I understand that Auntie’s source is pretty good

are we allowed to ask who Auntie’s source is? Great news if it’s true – and about flaming time some sense started to prevail
