Conservative MP secures discussion on Social Housing – http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Player.aspx?meetingId=8637&wfs=true

interesting because his opening address for the most part belies his politics, yet to hear the ministers response but am sure it will be the same old guff.

Looks like backbench Conservative MP’s are starting to listen (a bit).

And another one gets up in support – raising the 25 – 35 restrictions.

Where were they when this was debated in the commons. what is the point of raising these concerns now UNLESS this is the start of a manufactured U Turn.

I’ll wait to hear what the minister says before getting too excited.

Grant Shapps doesn’t know what he’s talking about 1:24:30 ish. When asked about increased non dep deductions meaning non deps move out and increase the number of underoccupancies, he suggests that the non deps get a job so that they can contribute to the rent !!!!!!!

It’s a moral dilema for the HB clmts really. I am not tarnishing all with same brush – just a few hundred thousand may be……I mean do they tell us the non-dep is working full time and loose out in that way or is it easier to tell us the non-dep has vacated to go and live in Narnia and take the hit on the reduced LHA rate…mmmmmm!!! now there is a dilema if ever there was one, unless of course you are a very clever clmt and keep uo to speed with rates of non-dep deuductions and changing LHA rates.

Grant Shapps doesn’t know what he’s talking about

He’s in good company – nor does the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. Frightening really

You could also include IDS, Lord Freud and Chris Grayling into the ever swelling ranks.

Might it be simpler to say who does know what they are talking about………

Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery. The blossom is blighted, the leaf is withered, the god of day goes down upon the dreary scene, andβ€”and in short you are for ever floored.

Michael, I’m please about your morals. I personally think my morale would be better if my morals were not so good
