This years MIS guide has amended the 3 part question on HBMS matches (question 40) and I am trying to figure out what the DWP want us to report now. The MIS guide has the following-
“40a Matches received, enter the total number of data-matches received since 1 April 2006 as of the end of the quarter.
40b Matches outstanding for less than two months at the end of the quarter, enter the total number of data-matches received since April 2006 that are outstandinding for less than two calendar months at the end of the quarter.
40c matches resolved within two months, enter the total number of matches received since April 2006 that were resolved within two months of being received by the LA.”
So using a simple example, if we received 100 matches every month in April, May and June and at the end of the quarter 10 were outstanding from the first month, 10 from the second and 10 from the third, I think we would report 300 for 40a, 20 for 40b (because only the May and June outstanding cases are less than two months old) and 40c would depend on how many of the 270 that have been resolved were resolved within two months.
The 180 cases from May and June months would be in the count because they have only been received less than two months so must have been resolved in the time limit, but of the 90 resolved from April some may have only been resolved towards the end of June and be outside the two month time limit so should not be in the count.
This looks quite a complicated measure to calculate correctly. Am I on the right track?
Anyone else having problems with this new measure?
