    Is a step-grandfather a close relative? It isn’t listed but other ‘step’ relationships are…

    No – a step grand father is definately not a close relative. However you may still want to consider the commercial element.

    Usual list for possibilities, in order…

    1) actual liability
    2) long tenancy (unlikely if resident L/L)
    3) non commercial
    4) any other Reg 9 possibilities (except contrived)
    5) contrived
