The 2007-8 first estimate form’s plopped into my mailbox.
For non-HRA thresholds it refers me to circular S5/2005 which covers 2006-7 only.
Norcross say they just put what the Adelphi told them to put, and the one person at the Adelphi who knows about this doesn’t work on Fridays (don’t you just love ’em?)

Does anyone know whether the thresholds go up this year or not?

No – nor does the DPW – because they are currently discussing a freeeze or even a reduction for London authorities

    Hi,

I rang the Adelphi last week and was told that the figures were being worked on at the moment, so the circular should be issued shortly.

I’ve just received SI 2007 No 26 – looks like the thresholds have stayed the same and the caps have been reduced to the 2005/6 levels

The Subsidy Order is always amended retrospectively to reflect subsidy claims currently being finalised rather than the current year’s benefit expenditure. If you look at Article 1 to the SI you’ll see that the 2005 figures have effect from 1 April 2005 – all it is saying is that final subsidy for 05/06 will be paid at previously advertised rates and it’s all legally legit.

There is still nothing to say what the thresholds will be for 07/08, indeed the 06/07 rates are not yet enshrined in the Subsidy Order (and probably won’t be for another year or so).
