Has anyone successfully converted (IS) claims to Pension Credits (PCGC) on SX3 yet?

We managed to convert around about 50% of the cases on the scan. The process is very quick and reasonably easy to do, or so my Systems Administartor tells me.

We are an Iworld site. My understanding, although I might be wrong, is that there is no conversion process for GUI sites.

Did the process end AA/DLA on 5/10/03 as well as IS ?
and did you change the PC start dates to 6/10/03 on the data file before you started, or let PC roll fwd to 13th?
    and
did you have to do anything else to the disc before saving in $ORBDATA? Ours disc opens as an excel file, is this the format you saved it in??
    thanks

We are having problems with the interface process. The vast majority of the records came back as matched exceptions because the system said these claimants made ‘multiple claims’ on our system (and therefore we can’t auto update them). Needless to say, none of the claimants on the exception report had multiple claims…!

In fact, the only claims we were able to automatically update were ones were the benefit period had expired prior to the 05/10/03, despite the release notes stating these cases would appear on the exception report…

If other sites are managing the process I guess we must be doing something wrong, but having read the release notes about 100 times, we are still nonplussed…

    have you seen SRB 083?
5.4.1.01 corrects the ‘multiple claims exist’ error

Do any SX3 users understand the “Modified cases” instructions in Bulletin 257, they won’t work will they ?

No they won’t Julian! We are using PCSC and PCAIF for non-modified cases. For modified cases we are using PCSC and PCAIF (as it really is). We then also use the normal income codes for Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit (where things need adding on) and the PCMAIF code with a NEGATIVE value where things need taking off. We then enter the AIF breakdown using all the income codes and the inf only flag set to yes.

    Example:

Savings Credit of £10 and AIF of £130 made up of State Pension of £50, Occ Pen of £50 and War Disablement pension of £40. Claimant gets Child Benefit of £16.05.

PCSC entered with a value of £10
PCAIF entered with a value of £130
PCMAIF entered with a value of MINUS £30 (to disregard the full remainder of the War Disablement Pension under our local scheme)
CBF (or CB1) entered with a value of £16.05

and then shown as inf only:

    SRP £50
    OP £50
    WDP £40

This seems to work OK and certainly prints out properly on the notification letters.

With regards to SRB 083, we are on release 5.4101 and we still have the ‘multiple claims problem.

We have now been advised by SX3 it is still a ‘known issue’ and will be resolved at 5.42.

We are starting to think it might be quicker just to amend all the claims manually…!

Mark – how will that -30 for WDP disregard be reflected for subsidy purposes, will it be picked up as local scheme ? and will subsidy be correct ?

As yet Julian I’m not sure what the answer to your question is. Obviously this needs to be established ASAP. However, none of the various bizarre methods suggested by Sx3 work at all. At least this way there is an PCMAIF code against all adjustments where there may be a subsidy implication so they will be identifiable even if this becomes a manual process. Similarly, it is the only way I know of keeping the AIF figure intact which we need to do for both stats and to ensure that notification letters comply with SI2003/325 Reg 25(2).
