CIS doesnt seem to hold details of the 4 week working Tax Credit Run on.
I have seen a letter in some cases which gives a total payment made for the 4 week period.
Where the claimant mentions a 4 week run on do other Local authorites use the rate of the last installment showing on CIS?
Example:
Claimant no longer entitled to working Tax Credit from 21/07/2008
details on CIS show Tax Credit ended on 21/07/2008
Claimant confirms they received a 4 week run on but does not provide the letter
Do you take the last installment showing on CIS and use that for a further 4 weeks?

This is bothering us too. The run-on is paid but doesn’t appear on CIS. Do we continue taking it into account for the extra four weeks? Or, if paid in one hit, treat it as a lump sum payment and therefore capital? Has anyone got some clear guidance or procedure about dealing with these?

bumping this one in the vain hope that someone has had further thoughts! Looking at the relevant WTC regs it looks very much like it’s an extension of the exisiting award, rather than a one-off payment… but that makes the fact it doesn’t appear on CIS all the more surprising and unsettling…. 😕

Any bright thoughts?

Not feeling particularly bright today but…..

After looking at how the run on is calculated I think you will have to use the same amount as the existing instalment award for the run on period till the claimant provides proof of actual amount received.

HMRC make a manual payment when pating the run so this may be the reason it is not on CIS and will not be on CIS as it is also recorded manually.
