    I have been phoning around a few L/A’s and it would appear that different people are doing different things with Tax Credits.

    For a basic Tax Credit award with no changes are people calculating the income over the whole year (366×7) and taking into account from the Monday after the date on the award letter – or doing something else?

    I am also assuming that if the award start part way through the year you just change the 366 to what ever number of days are left in the year – am I right?

    What ever happened to Ammdt 9?

    Are you sure you’ve got 9 I received 8 recently but no 9 is there anything important in it ?

    No amendment 9 on the DWP website – someone pulling legs again?

    It’s not on the website but it is available. I e-mailed John Kennett at DWP and he has e-mailed me a copy! It clarifies how to deal with awards made after 7 April 2003.

    I got Amdmt 9 emailed to me on 3.06.03 through Chris Taylor i.e. normal email address. No leg pulling involved!
