    Does any other LA accept telephone claims and if so how do deal with the situation when the claim is being made by the interpreter on behalf of the claimant?

    There are obvious risks if LAs allow this specific method of claiming, in that;

    – You have complete reliance on what the interpreter is interpreting
    – The claimant in effect will be unable to validate the information captured (unless you send them a copy to approve)
    – The claimant can then later blame the interpreter for any information collected which is not correct/left out, having knock on effects for fraud, overpayment recovery, etc.

    So my question is…do other LAs accpet telephone claims from an interpreter, and if so what safeguards they put in??
