    Hi
I am looking into getting our claim forms and leaflets translated into five different languages. Just wondering if anyone could recomend a company who offers this service and is reasonably priced.
    Thanks

As part of the National leaflet project all the leaflets being produced are being translated into Welsh, Bengali, Chinese, Gujarati, Punjabi, Somali, Urdu, Vietnamese, Turkish, Albanian, Kurdish and Gaelic as well as being available in Braille and audiotape.

As each leaflet is completed it will be made available in English and all the other language options to all LAs free of charge. You may want to wait for the national leaflets, rather than going to the expense of trabslating your own – translation is very expensive.

If you would like more information on the leaflets please email me.

We have recently subscribed to the National Interpreting Service. They not only offer translations of documents, but also a telephone based translation service for 30 different languages. We contact them when a translator is required and they then translate for the customer and us. There is a subsription fee and we then pay for the service when we use it. We have not started to use the service yet, but awareness sessions are to be carried out in February and the results of impact assessments, will no doubt mean that documents should be published in community languages.
    Their website address is nisuk.co.uk
