    Hi there.
Though I would put this out for some other opinions.

Claimant lives in a caravan on a travellers pitch. He has an adult son who lives in a second caravan on the same pitch. Is the adult son included in the assessment of the claimant?

This looks like a no-brainer – they are two seperate dwellings! However, as this is a caravan site it is not the ‘dwelling’ that is eligible for Housing Benefit it is the pitch. It would be logical therefore to treat everything on the pitch as part of the same household.

Any things, and reference to commissioners deicsions – would be most welcome

Is the second caravan there due to the fact that there is a large household? If so, one household

Yep – Spot on. They tenants are only allowed a second caravan to accommodate family. Thank you for pointing that out. I had not considered treating it that way – using HBR (2006) 7(1). Yep that looks good as there is only one liablity.

Many thanks – sometimes you need another eye to see the obivious
