    Im having a mental block

Claimant is given notice by landlord but it turns out to be an illegal notice as the correct protocol wasant followed. The landlord is selling the house so claimant looks for somewhere else to live.

He finds a housing association property and is given a start date of 03.09.12. im not sure of the date this was offered.

He and his existing lamdlord agree that his tenancy will end when he hands they keys back.

He moves into the new property on the 07.09.12 but doesnt hand the keys back until the 12.09.12.

When questioned about why it took so long to hand the keys back he said it took him this long to move all of the furniture etc from the old house as there was belongings for him his partner and 3 children.

Weve paid him at the new address from the 07.09.12 but hes wanting hb paid up to when he handed the keys back on the old address.

In theory is this covered as as such he has created the notice period by taking so long to move his stuff..
