I have been asked by a colleague from the local Veterans Agency about the impact of Unemployability supplement on HB/CTB for a War Pensioner. My thoughts are that most authorities would disregard it as part of their local scheme, however, is anyone aware of it being a disregarded income in its own right ❓

I did a bit of investigating exactly which components of war pensions fell under the relevant part of the various compensation orders, and fell to be fully disregarded about a year ago.

From what I remember, Unemployability Supplement, as a payment directly relating to disability, attracts a full statutory disregard, as should Constant Attendance Allowance (inc. Severe Disablement Occupational Allowance & Exceptionally Severe Disablement Allowance), the WP Mobility Supplement. There may be others, but I know these ones are all fully disregarded outside the local scheme.

Off the top of my head, I can’t remember exactly where I found all of this, but I do remember spending entire days on opsi.gov.uk reading more legislation than I should admit.
