According to the latest HBINFO newsletter 8% of the estimated total numbers are currently on UC.

Now we already are hearing about widespread hardship, rent arrears etc to say nothing of the imposition of conditionality on 'in work' claimants as managed migration starts.

 

So are there any asessments of the likley implications?  Does anyone have any thoughts?

Parliament is now in recess until the 9th October – first item on the parliamentary calendar is Work and Pensions Oral and Topical questions.

Conservative party conference is 1st to the 4th October – I can’t see that they’d go through conference and not raise a suspension if it were to happen only to have to answer questions raised on 9th October given that we know what they are:  https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm/cmfutoral/futoral.htm

I think we might have to wait either until conference or the 9th October to find out whether a suspension is likely

So… DWP @ hbinfo last week misunderstood the announcement? I thought Chief Execs were to be sent letters today?

Looking at the date of the letters I dont think this is "it".  Maybe something else on its way?

I thought the same, but we're due to go 1/11 and our JCP are adament that there's no hint of a delay being passed to them… fake news?

Just been to a Uc engagement workshop and the DWP rep was adamant that there was no announcement or chief exec letter promised or on its way…the only roll out delays are to individual job centres due to individual issues!

We are due to go live on 11/10 (just a few postcodes) and then the rest of our area on 18 October.  The JCP have said the same to us – that there is no hint of delay.

Don't usually quote myself from upthread but I doubt we'll hear anything prior to conference next week,  alternatively any doubt will be clarified one way or the other on the 9th October when these questions are answered in parliament https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm/cmfutoral/futoral.htm
