I was speaking to one of our Polish claimants who suddenly dropped in the conversation how she currently worked for a number of different employers but the Home Office have told her they will only issue one Worker Registration Certificate.

This doesn’t sound very plausible to me, especially since the employer is acting illegally by employing someone who has not registered the employment with the Home Office.

Are A8 nationals only allowed one job at a time perhaps? making all the others illegal employment.

I did have a quick hunt around the Home Office site but drew a blank, if anyone can shed any light on this I would be grateful, if not I’ll head back to the Home Office site.

I have in front me of the Home Office leaflet entitled ….. Living and Working in the UK – Rights and Responsibilities of Nationals from the New member States from 1 May 2004 …… The leaflet is made up of advice in question and answer type style.

Can I have more than one job at the same time? Yes, but you must apply for a registration certificate for each employer you are working for.
