Based at our Broadway Offices in Accrington. We provide a first rate service to everyone in the Borough and we would like you to join our team. We want you to help us to build upon the already successful Benefits service and Hyndburn’s status as an excellent council.
We are recruiting an Appeals officer and Team Leader (one post). This role will include day to day supervision and managing the Benefits team and their performance, whilst also handling complex and difficult enquiries on Housing Benefits and Council Tax Support, prepare and represent the Council at Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Tribunals, balancing and assist with subsidy and end of year uprating. You will also be expected to conduct 1-1’s, PDRs, absence management and other line management responsibilities.
This is a versatile, busy and demanding role which requires in depth knowledge of experience of Benefits.
With experience of working in a Benefits environment, you must be able to empathise and problem solve on behalf of customers, work in a busy environment, have the ability to manage your and your teams workload and relay information and be willing to ‘go the extra mile’ for our customers.
