Assessment and Awards Manager

We are looking for a transformative leader to join our Resources Directorate to deliver an effective and efficient Assessment and Awards service to our communities.

This is a great opportunity to develop and implement key strategies to maximise benefit take-up and promote financial inclusion and drive forward key actions to address poverty across the county.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

You will have responsibility for the strategic direction and operational management of a customer focussed Assessment and Awards service. This includes Council Tax and Business Rates billing, administration of Housing Benefit, Council Tax, Council Tax Reduction, Discretionary Benefits and the assessment of contributions for Adult Social Care.

As an effective communicator you will play a key role in delivering service improvement objectives, working with partners and other services to ensure residents receive the support they need.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

This is a key role within our service, so we are looking for someone with the drive and ambition to deliver outstanding results. You will need:

  • Experience of working in a senior role within revenue, benefits, financial services, support or customer services
  • Experience of implementing and managing change and business transformation, proactively pursuing continuous improvement
  • Experience of interpreting complex and changing legislation and developing and implementing policies
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to think analytically, strategically and creatively

You will need a Level 7 management qualification or able to demonstrate equivalent experience as outlined in the person specification for this role.

Salary range / grade: £67,347 - £69,474 + relocation package available if applicable

Hours: Full time - permanent
