Assistant Revenues System/Training Statistics Officer

North East Derbyshire District Council

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our busy Revenues & Benefits Team.

You will be part of the Revenues and Benefits Systems/Training Team providing systems and support to the teams within the Revenues and Benefits Section. This will involve undertaking tasks associated with administration of our systems, new technology, digital systems and training.

The Council’s Revenues and Benefits Section is a very busy, constantly changing, and challenging environment that deals with over 47,000 Council Tax accounts, nearly 3,000 Business Rates accounts, just under 4,000 Housing Benefit claims, just over 7,000 Council Tax Reduction claims and other sundry debts owed to the Council. 

To be successful you will need:

  • A detailed practical, procedural and policy knowledge of Housing Benefit & Council Tax Reduction Regulations and good practice
  • A good working knowledge of the Capita Council Tax and Housing Benefit system
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience of  working in a  Revenues/Benefits environment
  • Experience of giving complex technical advice
  • Experience of managing own workload, priorities and using own initiative. with minimum supervision

Salary range / grade: Salary/Grade: £24,491 to £27,040 / Grade 8
