Benefits Assessment Officer

We are looking for a Benefits Assessor, to assess entitlement to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction, answer related queries from internal and external customers, help customers with migration to Universal Credit and assist with the administration of any other schemes assigned to the Benefits section in the future, designed to provide financial assistance to residents.

The successful candidate will possess GCSE passes in English and Maths (or equivalent) and be computer literate. You should be able to demonstrate good oral, written and communication skills including an excellent telephone manner. You will also have the ability to work efficiently under pressure and as a highly motivated team player.

We are ideally looking to offer the successful candidate the full number of hours advertised above. We may however consider offering less hours than advertised providing they meet the requirements of the role and service which will be determined by the recruiting manager.

Salary range / grade: £20,812-£27,852 per annum, grade CF

Hours: Full Time Permanent
