We are recruiting to our Revenues & Benefits service, PSPS are on the lookout for enthusiastic team players, who can bring existing skills to our team!  

Due to expansion in the service, we are excited to be offering an opportunity for a number of highly motivated individuals to join our successful Revenues and Benefits service as Case Management Officers.

We have permanent full time and part-time positions available so something to suit everyone!

Case Management Officers play a key role in our service, ensuring the prompt and efficient billing, collection and recovery of Council Tax and Business Rates, and the timely and accurate processing and payment of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support, on behalf of our client councils.

Typical duties include:

  • Accurate and timely updating of customer records.
  • Ensure customers receive any relief and reduction to which they are entitled.
  • Processing benefits new claims and changes in circumstances.
  • Dealing with customers by phone, and in writing to provide advice, explanations and clarification of decisions and actions.
  • Provide appropriate support to customers that may be vulnerable, including signposting to support services.
  • Make suitable payment arrangements to help customers settle their liabilities.
  • Identify possible irregularities in customer applications and claims

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven skills in dealing with customers in a professional manner
  • GCSE level C/4 or above in English and Maths
  • Awareness of Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefit / Council Tax Support
  • A flexible approach to accommodate changing priorities

Previous experience is not essential but would be an advantage.

Salary range / grade: £21,896 - £23,857

Hours: Full Time Permanent - 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and the option to purchase up to 5 days extra
